Service & Parts Notices, Warranties, and Disclaimers (California)
Nissan Replacement Parts & Accessories — Limited Warranty
Coverage. Nissan warrants Nissan Genuine replacement parts and accessories it supplies for use on Nissan vehicles against defects in materials or workmanship. Replacement audio components are covered by the Basic Vehicle Warranty or 12 months (regardless of mileage) from installation, whichever is greater. Exclusions include tires and batteries (covered separately), normal maintenance, misuse/accident/environmental damage, improper repair or modification, non-equivalent parts, and lack of required maintenance.
Full terms, what’s covered / not covered, and how to obtain service
What Nissan Will Do
If originally installed by an authorized Nissan dealer, the part will be removed and reinstalled after repair at no charge for parts and labor. If not originally dealer-installed, the part will be repaired or exchanged; replacements may be new or remanufactured.
How Long
12 months or 12,000 miles from purchase. If the part was installed while the vehicle was covered by a Nissan warranty, coverage will not end before the vehicle warranty ends.
What You Must Do
Deliver the warranted part/accessory or the vehicle to an authorized Nissan dealer in the U.S. or Canada with proof of purchase. If the part was not dealer-installed, you pay labor to remove/reinstall.
Other Terms
Any implied warranties may be limited to the duration of this written warranty where allowed by law; rights vary by state/province.
Mazda Replacement Parts & Accessories — Limited Warranty
Coverage. Mazda warrants (1) over-the-counter parts/accessories for 12 months after sale, or (2) parts/accessories installed by a dealer for 12 months/12,000 miles (whichever comes first) after installation. Mazda reimburses dealers for labor only when the labor is performed by or sublet by the dealer; labor for removal/reinstallation of counter-sale parts is not reimbursable. Replacements are genuine parts.
Customer requirements, exclusions, and limits
Customer Requirements: Return the defective part to the dealer during business hours and present the original sales slip (counter sales) or repair order (dealer installs).
Exclusions: Abuse, misuse, neglect, alteration, accident, improper lubrication/repair, misapplication, normal maintenance items, certain spark plug conditions, or failures caused by non-Mazda parts. Consequential damages (loss of time, use, commercial loss) are not covered. No other express warranty applies beyond Mazda’s written terms.
All Parts & Service Provided “AS IS”
Dealer Disclaimer: All parts and accessories are sold and all repairs and services are provided by the dealership AS IS. The dealership disclaims all warranties, express and implied, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose, in connection with parts/accessories sales and/or services/repairs. Customer (and, if applicable, manufacturer) assumes the entire cost of any necessary servicing or repair. No recovery for consequential, incidental, or similar damages (e.g., loss of use/time/profits).
Smog Check, Proposition 65 & Hazard Notices (California)
Smog Check — Repair Waiver Eligibility
- If your vehicle fails Smog Check and is out of warranty, you may be eligible for a one-time waiver after spending at least the legally required amount on emissions-related repairs at a licensed Smog Check facility.
- Waivers are not issued for vehicles with missing/modified/disconnected emissions controls, “Gross Polluters,” vehicles that already received a waiver after January 1, 1995, or those failing visible smoke unless specific income criteria are met.
- Fraudulently obtaining a smog certificate may result in civil penalties and potential criminal prosecution; contact CA DCA at 1-800-952-5210 for information.
Proposition 65 Warnings
Operating, servicing, or maintaining vehicles can expose you to chemicals (including engine exhaust, carbon monoxide, phthalates, lead, benzene) known to the State of California to cause cancer and birth defects or other reproductive harm. Avoid breathing exhaust; minimize idling; service in well-ventilated areas; wear gloves or wash hands frequently; limit time spent in service bays. See P65Warnings.ca.gov/passenger-vehicle and P65Warnings.ca.gov/vehicle-repair.
Hazardous Waste & Lead-Acid Battery Fees
- Hazardous Waste: A charge may be assessed to cover handling, management, and disposal of hazardous substances under California and Federal law.
- Lead-Acid Battery Fee: California requires a nonrefundable $2.00 battery fee and a refundable deposit per battery; return a used battery with receipt at purchase or within 45 days for deposit credit.
Song-Beverly Act — Warranty Time Extensions
California buyers may have rights to warranty time extensions for days out of service for warranty repair and in cases of delays beyond buyer control; if repairs fail after a reasonable number of attempts, buyers may seek replacement or refund (less reasonable usage). Rights vary and do not limit other protections under law.
Service Customer Terms (Shop Policies)
Key points
- Flat-rate pricing by job (not actual mechanic time). You won’t be charged more than your approved estimate; we’ll seek your approval for any revised estimate if additional/different repairs are needed.
- Vehicles and contents are not insured by the dealership against loss due to events beyond our control (fire, theft, weather, etc.) while on premises.
- Completion dates depend on labor/parts availability; delays outside dealer control are not the dealer’s responsibility.
- Payment is due in cash or approved credit card unless other arrangements are agreed in advance; notices may be mailed to the address on record.
- Dealer possesses a lien for repair/storage/towing charges and may enforce per notice and applicable law; reasonable attorney’s fees may be added for collection.
- Remanufactured/refurbished parts that meet manufacturer-approved source requirements may be installed; on-board data may be retrieved and shared with OEM for diagnostics/research.
