Drive Family First 10 year / 100,000 mile limited powertrain warranty coverage

Available on most New Vehicle Purchases at Nissan of Elk Grove and Mazda of Elk Grove.
The 10 Year / 100,000 Mile Limited Powertrain Warranty begins upon the expiration of the manufacturer’s warranty and will continue to cover the following components up to 120 months or 100,000 miles from the Original Date of Sale, whichever comes first. It does not cover normal wear and tear, maintenance, or those items excluded elsewhere.

The items covered by the Limited Powertrain Warranty include:

Engine

Gasoline Engine – Cylinder block, and all internal lubricated parts including; crankshaft, rod and main bearings, cam bearings, connecting rods, wrist pins, pistons, piston rings, camshaft, cam tower, lifters, cylinder head, valves and guides, valve springs, rocker arms (cam followers), pushrods, timing chain and sprockets, timing belt and pulleys, balance shafts, oil pump, fasteners for the components listed above. Excludes seals and gaskets.

Turbocharged/Supercharged/Rotary/Diesel/Enhanced Engines – All of the above listed parts or equivalent plus: turbocharger, waste gate controller, compressor, bypass valve, injection pump, lines and nozzles.

Towing Allowance

Lifetime towing is provided within 25 miles back to Mazda Roseville

  1. Use all reasonable means to protect your vehicle from further damage. This may require you to stop the vehicle, turn off the engine, and have the vehicle towed.

Transmission

Automatic – Case and all internal lubricated parts including; oil pump, valve body, torque converter, vacuum modulator, governor, main shaft, clutches, bands, drums, gear sets, bearings, bushings, sealing rings, solenoids, fasteners for the components listed above.

Parts not listed are not covered.

Standard – Case all internal lubricated parts including; main shaft, gear sets, shift forks, synchronizers, bearings, bushings, fasteners for the components listed above.

Transfer Case – (4X4 vehicles) – Case and all internal lubricated parts including; main shaft, gear sets, chain and sprockets, bearings, bushings, fasteners for the components listed above.

FRONT WHEEL DRIVE – Final drive housing, and all internal parts including; carrier case, gear sets, chain and sprockets, bearings, bushings, axle shafts, fasteners for the components listed above.

REAR WHEEL DRIVE – Drive axle housing, and all internal lubricated parts including; carrier case, gear sets, bearings, bushings, limited slip clutch pack, axle bearings, fasteners for the components listed above.

Maintenance Requirements

In order to keep your Limited Power Train Warranty valid, you must follow the maintenance procedures listed below.

  • You are responsible for making sure the oil warning light/gauge and the temperature warning light/gauge are functioning before driving the vehicle. Failure to stop driving while such a warning light is on can and will void your coverage.

  • Your vehicle must be serviced receiving all scheduled maintenance as recommended by the manufacturer’s Owner’s Manual.

  • You must keep copies of all repair orders. Copies must indicate; customer name, repair order number, repair order date, Vehicle Identification Number, a description of your vehicle, repair order mileage, and a complete description of services performed.

Limited Powertrain Warranty FAQs

  • The 10yr/100,000 mile limited powertrain warranty is available on most new Nissans or Mazdas and covers parts and labor on all approved engine and transmission failures. Outlined above is a list of all the covered components and disclosures:

  • It’s simple! In order to keep your warranty in force, your vehicle must be maintained according to manufacturer’s specifications. You must retain all related service records and receipts. The performance of this normal maintenance is not covered under your warranty.

  • After the manufacturer’s warranty has expired, and in order to utilize the 10 Year / 100,000 Mile Limited Powertrain Warranty, you are required to complete any warranty work directly through one of the Drive Family First Service centers.

  • This warranty is not available for Nissan LEAF, GTR, NV, Mazda MX-30 or commercial use vehicles. Applies to new vehicle purchases ONLY. The Limited Powertrain Warranty may not cover or apply to certain conditions. Please see warranty for complete details.
